Job description

In this role, you will be responsible for researching, gathering data, and preparing summaries for the Member of Parliament (MP) as part of her parliamentary duties, including committee work. You will work closely with various government departments and the constituency office on the Parliamentary Secretary's communications and agenda.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, prepare comprehensive reports and summaries on topics of interest to the MP or relevant to committee work.
  • Conduct media monitoring and prepare background papers to keep the MP informed of emerging issues and areas of interest or concern.
  • Research to identify and analyze information needed for speeches, presentations, briefings, press releases, and correspondence.
  • Prepare the MP for House of Commons and committee work.
  • Manage the MP's agenda in conjunction with the Constituency Office Manager, including reviewing commitments, planning meetings and events in the National Capital Region, and informing the MP of any changes according to applicable rules and guidelines.
  • Perform any other related duties within the scope of the position as requested by the MP.
