Characteristic Duties: Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Parks, with the day-to-day direction of a Sub-Foreperson.
- Work as a Utilityperson, Janitor/Utilityperson, Labourer.
- Work as an assistant or helper to various tradespersons, equipment operators or other personnel.
- Perform routine labour work when not engaged in Utilityperson duties.
- Load and unload truck by hand or mechanical device.
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’s Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.
- Minimum of three (3) years of directly related parks experience.
- Must have above average ability in carrying out duties of a Utilityperson.
- Must have proven ability to efficiently operate all types of small equipment on construction and maintenance projects.
- Must have proven ability to operate equipment used for turf maintenance and snow removal equipment, e.g. tractors with grass cutting attachments, 3/4 ton truck with plough.
- Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
- Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
- May require the use of a CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid Class “G” driver’s licence, and have an acceptable driving record.
- Provide, at own cost, a Criminal Record Check.
