The City of Brooks is seeking to hire one Parks Maintenance III in the Parks Services Department.

As our Parks Maintenance III, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all parks, pathways, sports fields, cemeteries, and other related parks amenities under the department's jurisdiction. You will operate equipment such as chainsaws, front-end loaders, mowers, hand tools, bucket trucks, and snow removal equipment.

Requirements :

• Level III completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum of one year of experience in parks operations or a municipal parks environment, horticulture, golf course, or landscaping;
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Q-Endorsement;
• Certificates including Pesticide Applicator, CSA Playground, Fall Protection, Flag Person, Confined Space, Standard First Aid, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance, and Parks & Sport Fields Operator Level 2; CSA Playground or Pesticide Applicator Certificates;
• Willingness to obtain a Class 3 Driver’s License with Q-Endorsement; a clean driver’s abstract;

Certificates in Chainsaw Safety and Cutting Techniques Training, Confined Space, and Ground Disturbance are assets.

Compensation & Benefits :

• The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary and benefits package, with this position covered under the Collective Agreement between the City of Brooks and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local.
• The salary range is $30.26 to $33.15 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Regular hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. The position may include evening, weekend shifts, and overtime as needed. Wages are detailed in the Collective Agreement available online.
