Job summary

City of Vancouver seeks a Business Analyst – Park Operations Information and Data Management to lead data-driven projects that inform strategic and financial decisions for park operations. You will analyze large datasets, build dashboards, and collaborate with frontline managers to improve service delivery.

The role involves developing and maintaining operational information systems (SAP, Hansen, GIS, Power BI) and providing management reporting to support governance and performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Completion of a university bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Commerce, Public Policy, Economics or related technical area.
• Experience in business analytics, data analysis, and management reporting in large organizations.
• Experience with municipal government or public service is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Leads or supports full lifecycle of business‑process reviews from current state to future state and implements improvements.
• Leverages asset and operational management principles to inform projects and service delivery improvements.
• Analyzes complex operational issues and develops practical recommendations supported by data.
• Supports Park Operations Director and multiple projects concurrently with systematic analyses for key decisions.
• Structures and utilizes asset and operational data to provide metrics and performance data.
• Prepares reports or presentations for Park Board and management.
• Synthesizes information into clear management reporting and develops BI dashboards.
