The Parent Support Worker will assist the Maternal Child Health Program by improving health outcomes for pregnant women and families with infants and young children, by focusing on culture, role-modeling and healthy teachings by linking community resources. Working 7.5-hour shifts (Overtime may be required). S/he will provide in-home support such as basic infant care, infant stimulation, fostering healthy child development, self-care and coping as a parent, offering hands-on approach to learning and supportive mentoring as a peer. Advocate, refer and act as a liaison for families. Work closely with Health Care Professionals and work with the Public Health Nursing & Health Team to provide and deliver programs and services.
