Job summary

Para-Mentors Inc. is seeking a part-time First Aid / CPR Mentor to support our expanding instructor network in Ontario.

You will train and certify others, delivering high-quality First Aid and CPR instruction to paramedics, students, healthcare providers and the public. We offer pay starting at $35/hour, paid training with EMT - Emergency Medical Training Canada, a flexible schedule including weekend shifts, and travel across the west GTHA from our Mississauga base.

Qualifications

• Must currently work as frontline Paramedic in Ontario.
• Passion for teaching First Aid & CPR to varied audiences.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• LeadFirst Aid/CPR trainings and mentoring sessions.
• Be willing to travel across the west GTHA for shifts with expenses covered.
• Maintain professional, enthusiastic interactions with participants and colleagues.

For years, Para-Mentors has provided professional hiring support to job-seeking Paramedics and students, as well as full-scope, high-tech recruitment and education services to Paramedic agencies.

We have launched Para CPR & First Aid, which has gained credibility because of our high quality, Paramedic-led courses. We have a growing need to expand our current instructor pool to keep up with our corporate and public demand.

Role Description - First Aid / CPR Mentor

First Aid / CPR Mentors can expect the following when working for Para-Mentors:

Our certification agency, EMT - Emergency Medical Training Canada, provides an intensive multi-day program to prepare you to instruct their top-notch content. You will be compensated for your time training.

Position Expectations

Para-Mentors has the following expectations of our First Aid / CPR Mentors:

• Availability - submitted 2 months ahead of time electronically and currently must consist of 5 days including 2 weekend days per month. There is no minimum guaranteed number of shifts.
• Travel - you must be willing to travel throughout the west GTHA for shifts. Our head office and primary business location is in Mississauga (Dixie/401) but we do conduct business elsewhere. Travel expenses are covered for excessive distance outside of this region.
• Smartphone / computer - you must have access to a cell phone, computer, and reliable internet access for both. We use digital communication for all of our internal communications.
• Professionalism - Our whole company model is based on being the best in whatever industry we enter, and that is especially important in our frontline operations. We want our employees to be enthusiastic and passionate about their roles and consistently display this in their work.

Key required qualifications

You must have these to be a good fit on our team. These attributes must be present in order to advance through the process.

• Currently working as a frontline Paramedic in Ontario
• Passion for teaching First Aid & CPR to Paramedics, students, healthcare providers, and the general public
• Excellent communication ability - verbal and written
• Excellent customer service skills
• Constant positive attitude in the workplace
• Strong independent work ethic and time management skills
• Desire to help advance the profession
• Passionate about the work that our company is doing
• Basic computer and technology skills
• Access to a smartphone, computer and reliable internet
