City of Hamilton is seeking a Primary Care Paramedic to join Hamilton Paramedic Service. The role involves providing primary emergency medical care and transportation for ill or injured persons, including public education and community health initiatives.

You will perform direct patient care at the scene, transport patients, complete detailed reports, and participate in continuing education and training. A valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and PCP certification are required.

Formación

• Must hold PCP certification or be eligible before start
• Diploma or letter confirming good standing from PCP Training Program
• If graduation before 2003, provide MOHLTC core program certificates
• Current BLS Provider or CPR HCP or ACLS
• Hold AEMCA or have completed PCP training and achieve AEMCA within 210 days
• Must possess and maintain a valid Ontario Driver's Licence for ambulance
• Must meet Ambulance Act requirements and provide proof as required
• Must complete CPER with Hamilton Health Sciences Base Hospital Program
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
• Proven leadership and ability to take command during emergencies
• Must be in good physical health and able to lift heavy weights
• Agree to comply with future vaccine policy requirements
• Preference for additional related education/certifications

Responsabilidades

• Provide primary emergency medical care at the scene with basic and advanced life support
• Transport patients to treatment facilities in ambulance vehicles as directed
• Complete patient assessments per Provincial/local directives
• Maintain documentation: Ambulance Call Reports, Incident/Occurrence Reports, Vehicle inspections
• Inspect, restock, and maintain fleet and stations to standard
• Participate in continuing education and precepting of students and staff
• Adhere to health, safety, and MOHLTC guidelines throughout duties
• Be prepared for 12-hour shifts and flexible scheduling as required
