Job Summary:

Independently assess and activate patient care protocols within the Tennessee paramedic scope of practice, including triage care in the field and Emergency Department. Communicate effectively to ensure safe and quality patient care within the paramedic team, transport, and handover. The LifeFlight Campus Response Team responds to campus emergencies, providing care to outpatients, inpatients, guests, and employees around Vanderbilt Campus.

Shifts: Monday - Friday, 3x12 hr., 6:30 A.M. - 7 P.M.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate with healthcare team to provide direct patient care.
  • Transport patients using various modes, providing ALS and Critical Care management for all ages.
  • Respond to emergency requests on campus and at Vanderbilt-sponsored or contracted events.
  • Use problem-solving skills to resolve patient issues and implement solutions with the Healthcare Team.
  • Identify and resolve patient and unit problems, ensuring proper handover to the healthcare team.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Technical Capabilities:
  • Ventilator Management (Novice): Demonstrate fundamental proficiency under supervision.
  • Critical Thinking (Novice): Show clarity, accuracy, and sound evidence in completing tasks.
  • Airway Establishing (Novice): Demonstrate basic airway management skills.
  • Medication Management (Novice): Conduct assessments and review medication histories thoroughly.
  • Assessing, Intervening & Stabilizing Patients (Novice): Demonstrate basic assessment and stabilization skills.
Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Tennessee Driver's License, Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic Licensure
  • Work Experience: Minimum 1 year relevant experience
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
