Location : Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote after onboarding)

Salary Range : $68,000 - $85,000

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Legal Services Coordinator (Franchising) to manage franchise transactions, draft related legal documentation, and provide technical advice on franchising processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to manage medium-to-high complexity legal transactions, and the expertise to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders in both English and French.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate franchise projects and transactions by advising on required steps, gathering necessary information, and ensuring adherence to timelines.
  2. Draft, review, and manage legal agreements, documents, and correspondence.
  3. Provide technical advice on franchising processes and legal requirements.
  4. Collaborate with internal departments, franchisees, and external legal counsel to ensure successful outcomes.
  5. Support organizational climate goals by fostering progress and collaboration.

Qualifications

  1. Completion of a paralegal program or equivalent training/experience.
  2. 12 years of experience in a related role, with knowledge of Canadian legal systems, corporate, and commercial law. Exposure to franchising and leasing would be an asset.
  3. Proficient in both English and French (minimum B2 level or higher).
  4. Proficiency in drafting agreements and legal documents, including experience with plain language drafting.
  5. Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  6. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  7. Ability to independently prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  8. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; familiarity with Google Workspace is an asset.
