Our team is looking for a compassionate part-time (0.7 FTE) palliative care physician. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside other palliative care physicians and our multidisciplinary team to provide Most Responsible Provider (MRP) coverage at St. Michael’s Hospice and the Palliative Complex Care Unit, as well as consultation services to acute care and community-based patients.
Throughout the Fraser Health Authority, we provide integrated, regional, comprehensive palliative care services in various settings, including 30 Palliative Complex Care Unit (PCCU) beds; consult services in 12 acute care sites, the community, and other settings; and support to 126 hospice beds. We also offer undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in collaboration with the Division of Palliative Care at the University of British Columbia.
Burnaby Hospital is a community hospital with 259 acute care beds, providing a full range of primary and secondary services, including emergency care, general/internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, obstetrics, neonatal intensive care, tertiary palliative care, adult psychiatry, outpatient clinics, and more. The hospital is undergoing a multi-year redevelopment project, with Phase one expected to complete in 2025, including new units and facilities.
