PAINTER-DECORATOR

Salary: $25.00 hourly
Hours: 35 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time (Day, Morning)

Job Duties:

1. Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required.
2. Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting, and steam-cleaning; remove old wallpaper and loose paint; repair cracks and holes in walls; sandpaper and apply sealer.
3. Mix and thin paint to obtain desired colour and texture.
4. Apply paint or other materials, such as stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish, fibreglass, metal coating or fire retardant using brushes, rollers or spray equipment.
5. Measure, cut and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls.
6. Assemble and erect scaffolding and swing stages.
7. Advise customers on selection of colour schemes and choice of wall coverings.
8. Provide cost estimates to clients.
