Job description

Are you looking for a fulfilling career opportunity where you can showcase your painting expertise while contributing to the maintenance of a top-tier hotel? Hotel Arts is seeking a skilled Painter to join our Facilities Department.

Join our dedicated team of professionals committed to delivering exceptional service to our guests. As a Painter within our Facilities Department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing the physical appearance and first impression of our complex, including but not limited to refreshing guest rooms, high-traffic public and back-of-house areas, restaurants, meeting rooms and exteriors. Your experience in indoor and outdoor painting projects including a multitude of surfaces will be essential for ensuring the aesthetic appeal of our facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily rounds of the building, both indoor and outdoor, to determine and prioritize ongoing painting requirements and schedule according to business levels by time of day, day of week and seasonal needs
  • Schedule upkeep of guest room painting, including necessary drywall repairs, ceiling leaks/cracks and vinyl repair based on occupancy levels, communicating clearly with housekeeping and front office to maintain room readiness and guest satisfaction
  • Maintain inventory levels of required painting supplies and monthly par levels
  • Build relationships with suppliers to obtain optimal pricing and inventory guarantees
  • Cooperate with designers on larger-scale renovation projects
  • Communicate project timelines and supply needs to the Facilities Operations Manager
  • Participate in departmental meetings, contributing to the growth and development of the Facilities Department
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the Facilities Department and the individuals' maintenance knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency in emergency response protocols outlined in the Emergency Response Plan

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial painting
  • Drywall repair, ceilings, and vinyl repair experience an asset
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays based on project requirements
  • Strong time management and communication skills
