Job summary

A leading company in the painting industry is seeking a painter to join their team in Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for surface preparation, operation of spray painting equipment, and maintaining a safe working environment. Candidates should have at least one year of painting experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work under varying conditions including heights and cold weather.

Qualifications

• 1 year of previous painting experience accepted.
• Able to work standing for long periods.
• Able to work on the road for multiple weeks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean surfaces using scraping, sanding and sandblasting.
• Operate spray painting equipment and mix paint.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of equipment.

Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required

Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding and sandblasting

Operate or tend automated spray paint equipment or other mechanized painting or product coating application equipment

Mix and thin paint to obtain desired colour and texture

Apply paint or other materials for fibreglass, metal coating or fire retardant using brushes, rollers or spray equipment

Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment in a safe manor

Assemble and erect scaffolding and swing stages

Other duties that are required

1 year of previous painting and helping experience is accepted.

Previous experience with sandblasting is an asset
