THE OPPORTUNITY.

Cornwall is looking for a dedicated Paediatrician to join their integrated Women’s and Children’s Health Services department. As a key member of their medical team, you will provide essential care for newborns, children, and teenagers in a facility that handled nearly 600 births last year. You will manage a diverse clinical load, from healthy newborns to emergency consultations, while benefiting from a strong referral partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa for complex paediatric management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
  • Provide high-quality paediatric care and 24/7 on-call coverage for the Women’s and Children’s Health unit.
  • Manage paediatric inpatients and healthy newborns with a focus on evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Attend deliveries upon request and provide specialist consultations for the Emergency Department.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to uphold the hospital’s ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Engagement).
  • Utilize the hospital’s HIMSS Stage 6 Electronic Health Record system to ensure seamless patient data management and safety.
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE (COMPETENCIES).

Licensure: Hold or be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).

Specialization: Fellowship in Paediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) or equivalent recognized specialty certification, (UK CCT, or American Board Certification).

Clinical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in neonatal management, paediatric acute care, and emergency consultation.

Teamwork: A collaborative approach to care and a commitment to professional accountability and patient safety.
