Job description

Position Overview

Our Vision is "Healthy People, Vibrant Communities, Care for All". To bring this vision to reality, the WRHA Adult Mental Health Program provides an integrated and comprehensive range of mental health services and supports primarily for adult residents of Winnipeg across the healthcare continuum that support and promote recovery. Through collaboration and partnership across various health, social service, and community sectors, the program strives to promote mental health and well-being for all, reduce inequities and the impact of mental health problems, and work towards the sustainability of mentally healthy individuals and communities.

The PACT Support Worker, as a member of a multidisciplinary team, is responsible for rehabilitative and supportive work with participants and assistance in treatment. These functions include education and support to program participants, as well as assisting in assessment and planning. This worker reports to the PACT team leader and psychiatrist.

Experience

  • Two years of work experience with adults with severe and persistent mental health illnesses.
  • Experience in providing education and support in the community to individuals struggling with mental health issues.

Education (Degree / Diploma / Certificate)

  • University or college education in human services or related disciplines, or a high school diploma with related training.

Certification / Licensure / Registration

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated skills and competence to establish supportive, trusting relationships.
  • Skills in assessing, planning, developing, and coordinating support services.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.
  • Adheres to all safety and health regulations and safe work practices.
  • May be required to perform other duties related to this job description that do not exceed the stated skills and capabilities.
