Description

The PACS / Medical Imaging Administrator is responsible for the operational administration and network management of all PACS, and other Medical Imaging (EEG, Cardiac Management, and other future Imaging Systems), servers and workstations for the LWDH Hospital. They will assist in the integration of the PACS, and other Imaging Systems, to the Electronic Medical Records System. They will also support outside organizations that access LWDH Imaging Systems.

The PACS / Medical Imaging Administrator will work collaboratively with vendors to ensure the integration of imaging systems. Support and troubleshoot all problems related to the integration of the Imaging applications and ensure accurate long-term archive to the Provincial Diagnostic Imaging repository.

The PACS / Medical Imaging Administrator will also work closely with hospital staff by providing troubleshooting and training services on the Imaging Systems used at LWDH. They will also be the primary on all image transmissions, and retrievals.

Qualifications

  • A university degree or diploma. Subject areas could include Information Management, or Diagnostic Imaging. Equivalent education and experience may be considered
  • Post-graduate PACS certification or training courses are preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in diagnostic imaging, health care or a relevant field
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Teams, Project, Planner, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Agfa Enterprise Imaging and Meditech Modules
  • Knowledge of the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standards, Health Level Seven International (HL7), and the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • A results-oriented approach with the ability to take initiative and responsibility
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks to meet tight deadlines
