Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited in Saskatoon is seeking a Packing Operator for our P&H Milling team. This full-time, permanent position offers 24.75 CAD per hour with a probationary rate applying and includes day and night shifts.

You will weigh, pack and load flour products and operate packing systems throughout the plant. Ideal candidates have general labour and manufacturing experience, along with forklift capability and the ability to lift 25 kg.

Qualifications

• Previous general labour experience.
• Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift and obtain a valid license.
• Physically capable of lifting 25 kg bags.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work shift work, overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Weigh, pack and load flour products safely.
• Operate tote filling and packer systems and stretch wrap machines.
• Maintain a clean work area through sanitation duties.
• Complete health and safety training related to the role.
• Perform additional plant duties as directed by the Production Supervisor.
• Adhere to health, safety and food safety training requirements.

• Nights (8:00 p.m. - 4:30 a.m.)

Your Team

P&H Milling: P&H Milling is Canada’s largest Canadian-owned milling company, producing high-quality flour and cereal products for bakeries, food manufacturers, and consumers. From coast to coast, we transform Canadian wheat into trusted products that feed families at home and abroad.

We are seeking a Packing Operator to join our P&H Milling team. This role will support the operations, performing their duties in a safe and timely manner

Day to Day

• Weigh, pack and load flour products in a safe manner
• Operate tote filling and packer systems, and stretch wrap machines
• Maintain a clean work area by performing ongoing sanitation duties throughout the plant as required
• Adhere to all health and safety training requirements including completing all health and safety training relating to the role
• Perform additional plant duties as required and assigned by the Production Supervisor
• Complete and comply with all health, safety and food safety training relating to the job.
• Perform other operations duties as required and assigned by Warehouse Supervisor.

What You’ll Bring:

• Previous experience in a general labourer position.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift and obtain a valid Forklift license.
• Physically fit with the ability to safely lift and stack 25 kg bags.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and problem-solvingskills.
• Reliable and dependable with an ability to work shiftwork, overtime and weekends as require.
• Able to work in environments subject to dust allergens and higher temperatures as well as in all outside weather conditions
