Job description

Central City Brewers and Distillers is a craft brewery in the business of developing and selling international award-winning premium craft beer and high-quality distilled spirits brewed without compromise. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, CCBD was voted Canada Best Brewery of the Year in 2010 and 2012. Its Red Racer brand has become a cult icon among craft beer enthusiasts throughout North America. Founded in 2003 as a brewpub and liquor store in downtown Surrey, CCBD celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013 with the grand opening of a brand new, 68,000 sq. ft. brewery and distillery on Bridgeview Drive. In 2019 we opened a 40,000 sq. ft. storage facility with approximately 2000 barrels of whiskey aging in this facility. We are proud of being a local-Canadian Brewery that is currently expanding. In 2021 the company completed the installation of a new canning line designated for contract manufacturing.

Job Summary

This role is primarily responsible for the daily operation of packaging equipment on the can line, keg line, and variety pack line, along with general cleanup and sanitation duties. This position requires all shifts availability and may require overtime when needed. The Packer Operator reports to the Plant Manager.

Essential Function And Responsibilities

  • Following the production schedule to ensure orders are met on time, using the proper materials, and adhering to the set quality standards
  • Efficiently operate and monitor all equipment on the can, keg, and variety pack lines
  • Perform changeovers, minor adjustments, start-up and shut down of equipment
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that products are produced within the set specifications
  • Adhere to all plant rules, GMP’s, regulatory, safety, and quality assurance standards
  • Perform CIP’s, equipment, and area sanitation when required
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis to solve issues

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to lift and stack up to 20kg repeatedly
  • Must be able to pull hoses, bend, squat, climb stairs and load empty kegs
  • Must have the ability to continuously stand or walk
  • Ability to lift 40kg occasionally
  • Permanent Full-Time Position
