Job summary

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Packer, second shift at our Toronto manufacturing plant. The primary job function is to perform general labor duties within the laminated mattress Department.

The successful candidate will build/assemble various size mattresses from foam components or pieces on the line. Additional responsibilities include applying glue, collecting foam from the kitting area, performing QC checks, applying labels, housekeeping, and maintaining attendance.

Qualifications

  • No experience required, though some experience is an asset.
  • Must be able to pass fit and respirator test arranged and paid for by Company.
  • Able to interpret and work with numbers and measurements.
  • Able to lift between 20–40 lbs comfortably.
  • General understanding of PPE and its use.
  • Adaptable and flexible for any change of daily tasks.
  • Communicates effectively with employee inquiries or comments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal to no supervision.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities
