Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Organize and stock raw materials to support efficient plant operations.
  • Perform daily forklift safety and maintenance checks and report concerns promptly.
  • Follow established safety, quality and efficiency procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and ensure equipment is ready for the next shift.
  • Collaborate with coworkers, leads and plant leadership to support continuous improvement.

Help keep our plant moving safely and efficiently. In this hands‑on role, you will receive incoming materials, operate stand‑up Crown and order picker forklifts, and make sure materials are accurately recorded, organized, and available where they are needed. This is a great opportunity for a safety‑minded team player who enjoys a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do:
  • Safely load and unload trucks and move materials throughout the plant using a stand‑up Crown forklift, order picker, and related equipment.
  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, including quantities and item descriptions, and accurately enter receipts into computer systems and daily logs.
  • Organize and stock raw materials to support efficient plant operations.
  • Complete daily forklift safety and maintenance checks and promptly report concerns.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and efficiency procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and leave equipment ready for the next shift.
  • Support continuous improvement and work collaboratively with coworkers, leads, and plant leadership.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Experience operating a stand‑up Crown forklift and order picker, or the demonstrated ability to do so safely.
  • Ability to successfully complete the company’s forklift driving evaluation.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, loading schedules, production tickets, and basic written information in English.
  • Basic computer skills for entering receipts and maintaining daily logs.
  • Good organization, attention to detail, and hand‑eye coordination.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A safety‑first mindset, initiative, and the ability to adapt in a changing, fast‑paced environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred: Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or working with pneumatic tools.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • Work in a safety‑focused, fast‑paced manufacturing plant committed to Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Stand and walk for at least eight hours per shift, with overtime as business needs require.
  • Lift and handle product or raw materials weighing up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour; heavy loads must be team‑lifted.
  • Maintain a steady work pace that supports the plant’s make‑to‑order production system.
  • Work around high noise levels, hot raw materials, fire‑retardant materials, and limited chemicals.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, which is provided by the company.
Reporting Relationship:

This position reports to the Plant Supervisor or Plant Operations Manager and may also receive day‑to‑day direction from the Department Lead.
