About the role.

On-the-Job Operator Training for Plant 2 as well as support for additional site training and improvement initiatives as required and determined by the Training Department and Plant Management.

What you’ll be doing.

  • Coordination, monitoring, and assessment of all operator OJT (On-the-Job Training) occurring in their assigned area in Plant 2.
  • Development, maintenance and continuous improvement of training outlines, documentation, SOP-based training materials, data, tools, evaluation / assessment materials and processes for Plant 2.
  • Support and delivery of other training initiatives (e.g. GMP, Safety, new hire orientation, etc.) as determined and assigned by the Training Manager.
  • Scheduling of employee training and auditing skill set within the packaging department at Plant 2.
  • Maintenance of training records.
  • Providing constructive feedback & keeping a positive attitude and desire to help people to develop new skills and stay motivated.
  • Work with newer operators to increase skill level and understanding.
  • Instill the importance of CI and ownership to the operators and getting them working with the maintenance team. MDI Ambassador.
  • Emphasize standard work and recipe control to operators and help maintain them (MDI).
  • Monday thru Friday – 8 hours unless training a new operator.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Mathematical ability to perform basic calculations.
  • Familiarity with product flow through packaging area and have worked in packaging at least two years would be an asset.
  • Qualifications in at least two Operator’s positions would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control software (InfinityQS) is an asset.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills. Training Experience is an asset.
  • Physically capable of performing all required duties including some heavy and/or repetitive lifting (up to 40lbs).
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and must have computer skills.
  • Understanding of the entire packaging department; freezer tunnel to warehouse.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of Grade 12 education.
  • Needs to have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to instill into the operators.
  • Proven history of safe work habits. Good working relationship with maintenance.
  • SAP consumption experience and real time management.
  • Successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
  • Flexibility to work on shift with new employees if needed.
  • Physically capable of performing all required duties.

Compensation Package:$33.73-$34.40 (After six months) CAD hourly
