Job description

Packaging Technologist
Airdrie

34-hour working week
Permanent Role | Salary DOE | Competitive industry benefits

Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are proud to be continuing our partnership with International Beverage, and we’re on the lookout for a Packaging Technologist to join their team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is process driven, with a strong background in packaging and a real passion for sustainability. The business is constantly pushing forward, and this role plays a big part in developing and delivering new packs – from concept all the way through to launch, whilst ensuring the right technical specification and regulations are adhered to.

You’ll work closely with suppliers, design, operations, and internal stakeholders to make sure packaging is fit for purpose, on time, and on budget.

What they need:
  • Someone with solid packaging experience – ideally 3+ years in FMCG, spirits or similar

  • A good understanding of materials, specs, artwork and print – glass in particular would be handy

  • Process driven, but creative too – you’ll be managing multiple projects at different stages

  • A good communicator who can keep things moving and spot potential issues before they land

  • Passionate about sustainability – someone who’s keen to improve how things are done and reduce packaging footprint

What you’ll be doing:
  • Leading and supporting new product launches and changes to existing packaging

  • Reviewing and developing packaging specs – making sure they’re robust and right for the market

  • Keeping up to date with packaging regulations

  • Supporting sustainability projects and identifying improvement opportunities

  • Liaising with suppliers and attending press passes/trials when needed

  • Keeping everything aligned with internal systems and documentation

This is a brilliant time to join the team – there’s a lot going on, and they’re keen to find someone who brings experience, energy, and a great attitude.
