Job summary

Nortera Foods Inc. in Tecumseh, ON is seeking a highly motivated, energetic Machine Operator to support our Packaging department in a fast-paced, perishable vegetable product environment.

This position requires 1–3 years of machine operating experience and English proficiency. You will operate multi-function and single function process control machinery, adjust variables, ensure quality, maintain logs, and support safety and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of prior machine operating experience required.
• Experience in a food processing environment is an asset.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English at Level 3.

Responsibilities

• Operate multi-function and/or single function process control machinery through control panels, computer terminals or other control systems to mix, blend, and package vegetable food products.
• Manage start up and shut down process and perform troubleshooting to resolve problems.
• Adjust processing variables such as ingredient inputs, fill weight, flow rates, line speeds, and temperature settings as needed.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
• Operate packaging line machines safely and properly according to SOPs and GMPs.
• Maintain shift logs, record production data and other relevant information.
• Participate in safety audits, food safety programs, and emergency response initiatives.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance activities.
• Other duties as may be assigned
