Job description

Position Profile and Description:

Carry out the production schedule by executing packaging assemblies. Package solvents, chemicals, and solutions into designated containers. Clean out vessels and tanks between uses.

Duties, Responsibilities, Authorities:

  1. Execute Packaging Operations: Package distilled solvents, reagent solvents, solutions, and chemicals according to production schedules and work orders.
  2. Ensure Quality and Documentation Compliance: Collect quality data and complete all required documentation before starting packaging processes.
  3. Operate and Maintain Equipment: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot semi-automatic filling machines; connect lines and pumps to transfer materials between tanks and vessels.
  4. Maintain Equipment and Perform Cleaning Tasks: Conduct thorough cleanouts of tanks, vessels, and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for next use; perform minor maintenance on machinery and tools.
  5. Support Plant Operations and Organization: Assist with pretreatments, inventory counts, and logistics; maintain a clean, orderly workspace and transfer finished goods to the staging area.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven Ability in Manufacturing Environments: Work efficiently with chemicals, solvents, and solutions in a fast-paced setting.
  2. Eager to Learn and Develop: Demonstrate motivation to acquire new skills, processes, and technical knowledge.
  3. Mechanical Aptitude and Equipment Handling: Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain machinery confidently; forklift experience is an asset.
  4. Physical Capability for Demanding Tasks: Perform extensive physical work, including heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and repetitive tasks.
  5. Effective Communication and Basic Skills: Proficient in English for safety purposes; possess functional math skills (Grade 10 level) with a basic understanding of chemistry.

Education: Minimal high school education

Technical Experience: Forklift experience an asset

Personal Merits: Mature, responsible individual. Receptive to comprehensive on-the-job training

Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing environment with shift starting at 6:00 am.
  • Subject to change based on operational requirements.
  • Role involves extensive physical tasks and occasionally, working outdoors.
  • On-site role.

Physical Requirements:

Required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, do repetitive tasks.
