CIMCO is currently looking for Package/Product Engineering Designers (Mechanical Engineers / System Designers) to join our Package Engineering Team at the Burlington Office. This team is involved in the detailed system design of leading-edge Commercial, Industrial & Recreational refrigeration packages.
Role Responsibilities
- System Design - Mechanical design aspects of the various types of refrigeration systems in Industrial and Recreational applications.
- Prepare 3D SolidWorks models and flow diagrams in AutoCAD of systems, based on known dimensional constraints, jobsite, and customer requirements.
- Establish design and operating conditions for equipment used in refrigeration systems.
- Confirm component selections: pumps, compressors, motors, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, control valves.
- Design routes and piping to refrigeration standards while permitting ease of manufacturing/servicing.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings and instructions.
- Prepare bill of materials and issue material requisitions to the purchasing department with SAP software.
- Supervise assembly of refrigeration systems in CIMCO manufacturing facility.
- Liaise with multiple CIMCO departments, customers, and suppliers.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing meetings.
Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
- University Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with emphasis on Mechanical Design.
- Professional Engineering License is an asset.
- Good working knowledge of SolidWorks platform and experience with SolidWorks Routing and Weldments modules.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with SAP software.
- Able to accurately model refrigeration, structural, & piping components.
- Familiarity with basic refrigeration circuits.
- Exposure to steel, stainless steel, and copper piping, tubing & fitting nomenclature, standards, and material specifications.
- Ability to work alone or in a team and accept responsibility for the work performed.
- Ability to schedule work, deal with conflicts, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications.
- Ability to document engineering design and prepare record files.
- Willing to explore and implement new ideas.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems.
