Job description

CIMCO is currently looking for Package/Product Engineering Designers (Mechanical Engineers / System Designers) to join our Package Engineering Team at the Burlington Office. This team is involved in the detailed system design of leading-edge Commercial, Industrial & Recreational refrigeration packages.

Role Responsibilities
  1. System Design - Mechanical design aspects of the various types of refrigeration systems in Industrial and Recreational applications.
  2. Prepare 3D SolidWorks models and flow diagrams in AutoCAD of systems, based on known dimensional constraints, jobsite, and customer requirements.
  3. Establish design and operating conditions for equipment used in refrigeration systems.
  4. Confirm component selections: pumps, compressors, motors, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, control valves.
  5. Design routes and piping to refrigeration standards while permitting ease of manufacturing/servicing.
  6. Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings and instructions.
  7. Prepare bill of materials and issue material requisitions to the purchasing department with SAP software.
  8. Supervise assembly of refrigeration systems in CIMCO manufacturing facility.
  9. Liaise with multiple CIMCO departments, customers, and suppliers.
  10. Participate in Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing meetings.
Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
  1. University Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with emphasis on Mechanical Design.
  2. Professional Engineering License is an asset.
  3. Good working knowledge of SolidWorks platform and experience with SolidWorks Routing and Weldments modules.
  4. Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  5. Familiarity with SAP software.
  6. Able to accurately model refrigeration, structural, & piping components.
  7. Familiarity with basic refrigeration circuits.
  8. Exposure to steel, stainless steel, and copper piping, tubing & fitting nomenclature, standards, and material specifications.
  9. Ability to work alone or in a team and accept responsibility for the work performed.
  10. Ability to schedule work, deal with conflicts, and meet deadlines.
  11. Ability to read and understand technical specifications.
  12. Ability to document engineering design and prepare record files.
  13. Willing to explore and implement new ideas.
  14. Ability to troubleshoot problems.
