Job summary

Canadian Natural in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a seasoned Production Accountant to lead full-cycle production and revenue accounting for a diverse asset portfolio. You will submit volumetrics, analyze revenues and royalties, and ensure reporting and government compliance, working with SMEs and cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Accounting or Business Administration with CAPPA registration or eligibility, and have 8+ years in production accounting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Business Administration; registration or eligibility with CAPPA.
• 8+ years of production and revenue accounting experience.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, problem-solving, and Excel skills.
• Understanding of production accounting cycle and deadlines.
• Experience in oil & gas or mining is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze production data and confirm pipeline deliveries.
• Prepare Oil, NGL, and gas sales splits and submit reports to Petrinex; communicate with partners.
• Analyze and record revenues, royalties & processing charges.
• Review and provide comments on internal control and exception reports; respond to queries.
• Collaborate with field to meet government compliance requirements (EPAP & CAI) and resolve Crown discrepancies as related to the property.
• Project work assigned.

In this position, you’ll take ownership of critical responsibilities, including submitting volumetrics, analyzing revenue and royalties, and ensuring accurate reporting and government compliance across a diverse asset portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

What You Bring to the Role

• A degree in Accounting or Business Administration and registration or eligibility of registration with CAPPA (Canadian Association of Petroleum Production Accounting) Certification
• 8+ years of production and revenue accounting experience
• Self‑starter with strong analytical, account reconciliation, problem solving, organizational and Excel skills
• Understanding of production accounting cycle and deadlines
• Working in an oil and gas or mining environment would be an asset
