Job summary

Fengate Asset Management is seeking a Project Manager in its Infrastructure Group to lead delivery and asset management of a healthcare P3 asset in Brampton. The role supports compliance with contract obligations, manages subcontractors and coordinates with stakeholders.

The candidate will drive planning, budgeting and risk mitigation in a fast-paced setting, requiring strong leadership, integrity and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business, engineering or relevant field.
  • 3+ years' experience in P3 infrastructure, facility management and/or construction in healthcare.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with clients and stakeholders with gravitas.
  • Self-sufficient and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer contractual relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Monitor compliance with obligations under Project Agreement and related contracts.
  • Coordinate preparation and delivery of reports to Clients, Contractors and Lenders.
  • Monitor operations, maintenance and service providers to meet performance standards.
  • Identify, assess and track project risks; support mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in developing annual business plans and budgets; monitor performance.
  • Support insurance programs, claims management and security requirements.
  • Monitor lifecycle planning and major maintenance to sustain asset value.
  • Prepare materials for reporting to Board, Shareholders and Lenders.
  • Support Corporate Governance and day-to-day administration of the Project Company.

Overview

This position is a hybrid role with the expectation of a minimum of three days per week at one of the asset locations in Brampton, Ontario.

Fengate is seeking a Project Manager in our Infrastructure Group, responsible for project delivery and asset management of infrastructure projects, with an initial focus on an operational healthcare Public-Private Partnership (P3) asset.

The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all obligations under the various project contracts are met, optimizing performance of the asset, and overseeing the performance of the subcontractors in meeting their obligations.

The Project Manager will bring a proven ability to plan, organize and prioritize effectively to the role and will demonstrate integrity and ethical leadership. A proven ability to perform in a management capacity and multitask and problem solve in a fast-paced environment with limited resources is a must.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management and administration of contractual relationships with project stakeholders, including Contracting Authority, Contractors, Shareholders, Lenders' Technical Advisor, and others through formal and informal engagement;
  • Monitor compliance with the Project Company’s obligations under the Project Agreement, lending agreements, shareholder agreements, insurance requirements and other project contracts, and proactively address matters of non-compliance;
  • Coordinate the preparation and delivery of required reports, notices and other communications to the Client, Contractors and Lenders in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Monitor the performance of operations, maintenance, lifecycle and other service providers to ensure contractual obligations and performance standards are achieved and maintained;
  • Identify, assess and track project risks, and support the development and implementation of mitigation strategies;
  • Support the resolution of project issues, claims and commercial matters, working with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risk and avoid escalation where possible;
  • Assist in the development and execution of annual business plans and budgets, including monitoring project performance against financial and operational objectives;
  • Support the administration of project insurance programs, claims management activities and other project security requirements, including letters of credit, bonds and guarantees, as applicable;
  • Monitor lifecycle planning, major maintenance activities and capital rehabilitation programs to support long-term asset performance and value;
  • Prepare materials and contribute to reporting for the Board of Directors, Shareholders, Lenders and other project governance forums;
  • Support the Project Company Representative in the delivery of corporate governance activities, stakeholder communications and day-to-day administration of the affairs of the Project Company.
Key Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in business, engineering or a relevant field of study.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with 3+ years' experience in P3 infrastructure, facility management and/or construction within a health care setting, demonstrating a strong understanding of projects and associated risks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with clients and all stakeholders, forming effective relationships, gaining their respect and confidence through all round gravitas.
  • Ability to be self-sufficient and work with minimal supervision.
Pay Range: $100,000 - $115,000
