Job description

Owner Operator Truck Driver – Long Distance

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of three (3) years of verifiable driving experience is required, including at least one year as an owner-operator.
2. Equipment must not be more than 7 years old and have a maximum of 600,000 miles. Equipment must pass an onboarding inspection at a Linamar approved facility.
3. Legally entitled to work in Canada and able to enter the United States.
4. Possess a valid class AZ driver’s license that has not been suspended or revoked in the past 36 months.
5. Admissible into the US and able to obtain a FAST card.
6. Meet USDOT medical requirements.
7. Provide a recent criminal record search or a valid FAST card.
8. Provide an original driver’s abstract no older than 3 months, with no more than 3 demerit points.
9. Provide an original CVOR abstract no older than 3 months.
10. Submit a negative drug screen.
11. Capable of meeting the physical demands of the job.
12. Satisfactorily complete a road test by an LTI appointed evaluator.
13. Must not have any preventable accidents within the last three years where the claim exceeds $3000.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate and drive articulated or straight trucks, weighing over 4600 kg with three or more axles to transport goods and materials to destinations.
2. Oversee all aspects of vehicles, such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading, and safety and security of cargo.
3. Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights, and brakes.
4. Record cargo information, distance traveled, fuel consumption, and other data in log book and/or on-board computer.
5. Communicate with dispatcher and other drivers using on-board computer, cell phone, and CB radio.
