Job Summary

This hands-on role involves assisting the management of the Front Office, ensuring guest needs are met or exceeded. It maintains quality and consistency across all guest service aspects and ensures staff are well-trained and qualified.

  • Job Title: Overnight Rooms Supervisor (availability for 2 overnight shifts on Sundays and Mondays required)
  • Reports To: Front Office Manager
  • Department: Front Office

The salary range for this position is CA$52,000 - CA$54,600 (Hourly rate: CA$25 - CA$26.25).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of hotel experience
  • Post-secondary degree in hospitality or tourism
  • Energetic, outgoing, positive attitude, and driven to provide outstanding guest service
  • Knowledge of Canadian and provincial labour laws
  • Effective communication skills with guests, employees, and management
  • Excellent organizational, computer, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a collective bargaining agreement

Daily Tasks

  • Assist with scheduling and act as manager on duty when required, maintaining standards during shifts
  • Support and enforce corporate policies and procedures
  • Supervise staff, assist in onboarding, training, scheduling, mediating disputes, and administering disciplinary actions
  • Set departmental goals and develop strategies to achieve them
  • Maintain a detailed log of daily activities, conduct briefings, and follow up on notes
  • Respond to guest needs and departmental requests
  • Resolve guest complaints and handle requests
  • Control the issuance of supplies and materials
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations
  • Communicate loyalty program information and guest feedback to relevant departments
  • Coordinate with other departments for smooth operations
  • Assist with payroll processing and monitor labor costs
