An Overnight Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for safeguarding hotel property and assets, and ensuring the safety of guests, employees, and visitors.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What we are looking for:

Position Requirements:

  • Patrol hotel property to ensure safety and protect assets
  • Investigate crimes against property and persons
  • Assist sick and injured guests and employees, documenting reports
  • Respond to house calls, assist with safety, security, and hotel operations
  • Maintain accurate records, including camera monitoring, shift logs, lost & found reports, and guest/employee interactions
  • Execute evacuation and emergency procedures when necessary
  • Comply with WRS’s Occupational Health and Safety Program and WorkSafeBC regulations

Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of Fire, Life & Safety standards/processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a passion for connecting with others
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

General Requirements:

  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada
  • Willingness to obtain a BC security worker’s license
  • Willingness to attain Occupational First Aid Level 2
  • Ability to work independently, remain alert, and handle emergencies calmly (training provided)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Understanding of de-escalation strategies (training provided)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Satisfactory criminal record check

Health & Safety:

  • Safety orientations and monthly safety committee meetings
  • Certified under the COR program for occupational health and safety

Compensation: $23/hr
