Sensity seeks an Intervenor to support people who are deafblind in Paris, Ontario. The role focuses on communication and day-to-day living to help individuals live independently. Training is provided and conditional on a vulnerable sector police check.

Shifts include full-time 36-40 hours weekly, overnight awake, and rotational weekends. Eligible employees receive health spending accounts, RRSP matching, education reimbursement, and opportunities to attend conferences and workshops.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Intervenor for Deafblind Persons or related human services field.
• Experience with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviours.
• ASL or SEE communication ability.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsabilités

• Support individuals in home and community environments to promote independence.
• Relay information using communication techniques.
• Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility.
• Provide personal care as required (e.g. lifts, transfers, toileting).
• Help with goal development and program documentation.

Connaissances

ASL/SEE communication

English communication (oral & written)
