Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a dedicated housekeeper to perform light cleaning duties in healthcare, hotel or commercial cleaning environments. You will clean and disinfect washrooms, vents, interior windows, walls, glass, doors and mirrors, and handle linen with care.

Strong time management and organizational skills are essential, along with a good command of English (written and verbal). You must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a clean and orderly establishment.
• Clean and disinfect areas and items such as washrooms, vents, interior windows, walls, glass, doors, and mirrors.
• Collect, wash and fold linen.
• Damp mop hard floors and auto scrub as needed.
• Check and clean primary areas, lobbies, stairwells, elevators/escalators, and mezzanines.
• Vacuum carpeted areas and perform carpet extraction as required.
• Remove garbage from resident rooms and common areas.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident and personnel information.
• Report injuries and hazards to supervisor; respond to emergency cleanups as required.

Job description

You will be responsible for performing light cleaning duties that maintain the establishment in a clean and orderly manner.

• Clean and disinfect areas and items such as, washrooms, vents, interior windows, walls, glass, doors, and mirrors
• Collect, wash and fold linen
• Damp mop hard floors and auto scrub as needed
• Check all primary areas, lobbies, stairwells, elevators/escalators, and mezzanines and clean as required
• Vacuum carpeted areas and complete carpet extraction as needed
• Remove all garbage from resident rooms and common areas
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident and personnel information
• Maintain a safe environment at all times (e.g. use of wet floor signs)
• Perform duties according to health and safety guidelines
• Report all injuries and hazards to the supervisor immediately
• Responding to emergency cleanups as required
• Carry the community emergency phone overnight, assist with resident health emergencies, co-ordinating with first responders.
• Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in healthcare, hotel or commercial cleaning, is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy workload.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job, including requirements to lift up to 20 pounds
