Position Overview:

Freight Team Associates are responsible for stocking merchandise, organizing the sales floor to create a pleasant and safe shopping environment, and providing customer service as required by customer demand. They operate reach trucks, forklifts, and order picker machines to bring merchandise to the sales floor. Additionally, Freight Team Associates pick, pack, label, and place orders into designated holding areas carefully to prevent damage.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Handling Merchandise
2. Stocking merchandise onto shelves to achieve 100% in-stock levels.
3. Packing-out and packing-down merchandise as directed.
4. Merchandising new items and promotions.
5. Maintaining aisle cleanliness and shoppability to ensure merchandise is accessible and visually appealing.
6. Organizing overheads (e.g., striping overheads).
7. Communicating with team members to ensure proper stocking.

Ensures Customer Satisfaction:

Follow Home Depot’s Get Model of Customer Service: Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking Customers. Ask open-ended questions to understand customer needs and project levels when appropriate.

Maintains Safety and Security:

Move freight safely using appropriate equipment, ensure aisles are accessible and safe, and follow all safety and loss prevention policies.

Management and Work Conditions:

Reports to: Freight Team Supervisor. No travel required. Work involves physical tasks such as bending, reaching, lifting, climbing ladders up to 16 feet, and working in a dusty, noisy warehouse environment with potential exposure to gas fumes and temperature fluctuations. Flexible schedule including overnight, evening, and weekend shifts.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years retail or distribution experience (asset)
• Knowledge of operating reach trucks, forklifts, and order pickers (asset)

The pay range is $19.45 - $21.20 per hour.
