Freight Team Associates are responsible for stocking merchandise, organizing the sales floor to create a pleasant and safe shopping environment, and providing customer service as required by customer demand. They operate reach trucks, forklifts, and order picker machines to bring merchandise to the sales floor. Additionally, Freight Team Associates pick, pack, label, and place orders into designated holding areas carefully to prevent damage.
Follow Home Depot’s Get Model of Customer Service: Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking Customers. Ask open-ended questions to understand customer needs and project levels when appropriate.
Move freight safely using appropriate equipment, ensure aisles are accessible and safe, and follow all safety and loss prevention policies.
Interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.
Reports to: Freight Team Supervisor. No travel required. Work involves physical tasks such as bending, reaching, lifting, climbing ladders up to 16 feet, and working in a dusty, noisy warehouse environment with potential exposure to gas fumes and temperature fluctuations. Flexible schedule including overnight, evening, and weekend shifts.
The pay range is $19.45 - $21.20 per hour.
