Position Overview:

Freight Team Associates are responsible for stocking merchandise, organizing the sales floor to create a pleasant and safe shopping environment, and providing customer service as required by customer demand. Additionally, most Freight Team Associates operate reach trucks, forklifts, and order picker machines to bring merchandise to the sales floor. They are also tasked with picking orders when assigned, carefully packing them to prevent damage, and accurately labeling and placing orders into designated holding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Handling Merchandise:

• Stock merchandise onto shelves to achieve 100% in stock.
• Pack-out and pack-down merchandise as directed.
• Merchandise new items and promotions.
• Maintain aisle cleanliness and presentation to ensure merchandise is accessible and visually appealing.
• Maintain and organize overheads (e.g., striping overheads).
• Communicate with other freight team members to ensure proper stocking of products.

Ensures Customer Satisfaction:

• Follow Home Depot's Get Model of Customer Service, including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking customers.
• Ask open-ended questions about customers' projects to determine their needs and level of expertise when required.

Maintains Safety and Security:

• Move freight safely from staging areas to overheads or bring merchandise down from overheads using appropriate equipment.
• Ensure customers can move through aisles easily and safely.
• Follow all Safety and Loss Prevention Policies and Procedures.

Physical Requirements:

• Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items
• Climbing ladders up to 12-16 feet to obtain or stock merchandise

Working Conditions:

• Flexible schedule including overnight shifts, evenings, and weekends
• Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy
• Exposure to gas fumes from forklifts
• Open doors causing drafts and temperature changes

Minimum Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum Work Experience:

• 1 to 2 years retail or distribution experience is an asset

The pay range for this position is between $19.45 and $21.20.
