PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic consulting firm specializing in the engineering and design of overhead & underground transmission & distribution systems, substations, fibre optics, as well as substation and transmission foundations. Our expertise allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from conceptual engineering through to commissioning and startup.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Lines Design Engineer to join our Calgary engineering team. We offer a dynamic work environment with an experienced technical team, where you will be involved in all aspects of the engineering and design process.

Responsibilities :

• Assist in designing overhead and underground power delivery systems from 4kV to 500kV, including creating detailed scopes, estimates, performing calculations, and developing design drawings compliant with standards and codes.
• Coordinate with internal and external contacts for design details.
• Support Professional Engineers with technical studies, calculations, cost estimates, equipment specifications, and standards.
• Develop material and construction specifications.
• Support procurement activities, including material take-offs, requisitions, and evaluations.
• Design and evaluate overhead and underground structures and equipment placement.
• Design and assess electrical equipment components.
• Collaborate with Telecom designers on fibre optic design and joint-use applications.
• Prepare design packages for client review and construction.
• Escalate design issues for review and guidance.
• Perform related calculations and quality checks to ensure accuracy before project release.
• Assist with project coordination and bid/proposal preparations.
• Support construction activities as needed.

Qualifications :

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering.
• Experience in design and construction is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of power system operations and standards is advantageous.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
