Job description

The Sling-Choker Mfg. Group has an immediate opening for an Overhead Crane Service Technician. This position is based in the Thunder Bay or Dryden Area.

Our ideal candidate would be mechanically and electrically inclined with a friendly demeanor. Experience as an overhead crane service technician is preferred, but candidates with education or experience as an electrician, electrical technician, or mechanical technician will also be considered. Training is provided to develop any missing skills necessary for success in this role.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on overhead cranes and hoists at customer sites across Northwestern Ontario.
• Conduct detailed inspections and troubleshooting to identify failures or malfunctions using visual techniques and technical test equipment.
• Document all findings clearly during inspections and troubleshooting, and make recommendations to ensure safe operation or outline necessary repairs.
• Complete and submit electronic documentation using Sling-Choker's online inspection software.
• Prepare service reports and related documents professionally and concisely.
• Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring all equipment, vehicles, and assets are in good condition and comply with industry regulations (OHSA, CSA, ANSI, etc.).
