Overhead Crane Operator – Yard (day shift)
- Complete daily pre-use inspections prior to using a crane and other material-handling equipment.
- Follow and demonstrate proper rigging procedures and techniques.
- Move required material to the designated locations within the yard.
- Load joist, deck, and other materials onto trailers for shipping.
- Maintain control of loads at all times.
- Properly and promptly report maintenance concerns.
- Shunt trailers in the yard as required.
- Advise workplace parties of quality issues/concerns as identified.
- Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is worn at all times.
- Practice good housekeeping, including 5S requirements and time management in the performance of daily duties.
- Comply with all legislated and company health, safety, environmental, quality, and Lean policies, procedures, and programs.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate an overhead crane, forklift (combilift), and trucks (shunting).
- Willingness to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions daily.
- Ability to read and understand job requisitions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical ability to climb ladders onto trailers as necessary to secure products.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed to meet customer needs.
- Physical ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs.
