Job description

Dycor Technologies is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Outside Technical Sales Representative to join our growing team in Edmonton, AB.

Reporting to the General Manager, this role involves selling Dycor's products, including wireless data products, data acquisition and sensor products, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), and custom solutions. The position also entails evaluating and developing new business opportunities.

Work Conditions:

  • Travel within Western Canada is required

Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and pursue new customers across Western Canada in sectors such as municipal, oil and gas, and other markets.
  2. Maintain positive relationships with existing clients.
  3. Assess customer needs and recommend suitable solutions, including off-the-shelf or custom products.
  4. Suggest product improvements and strategies to enhance market share.
  5. Develop marketing strategies with KPIs for customer and market expansion.
  6. Participate in budgeting processes.
  7. Coordinate with Engineering to meet customer expectations.
  8. Source additional products or recommend custom development to diversify offerings.
  9. Support marketing material creation and updates.
  10. Provide technical support to clients as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. At least 3 years of direct sales experience in an industrial or technical environment, preferably in municipal, commercial, or oil and gas sectors.
  2. Ability to travel regularly within Western Canada.
  3. Experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
  4. Technical background in wireless data communications or data acquisition systems is an asset.
  5. Technical certification or diploma in electrical, electronic, or instrumentation technology is an asset.
  6. Experience with SCADA systems, RTUs, flow computers, and data protocols is advantageous.
  7. Knowledge of telemetry, communication protocols, and data integration is beneficial.
  8. Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  9. Self-motivated with good organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  10. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
