About our Client

Our client is proudly locally owned and operated waste haul company. Throughout the last 25 years they have grown to be one of the most reliable and transparent waste hauling companies in the lower mainland. They are looking for an Outside Sales Representative to join their team. This is an entry level position. If you are looking to gain sales experience apply today.
Salary ranges from 40-46 plus commissions.


Responsibilities

  1. New Business Development: Proactively promote our services to potential clients through business-to-business outreach. Encourage prospective customers to utilize our waste management solutions.
  2. Client Assessment & Solutions: Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand the waste management requirements of both new and existing clients. Recommend customized solutions such as roll-off containers, recycling programs, and specialized disposal services.
  3. Quoting & Proposals: Prepare and deliver professional quotes, sales presentations, and proposals that clearly articulate the value and benefits of our services.
  4. Contract Negotiation: Sign clients to multi-year service agreements (typically ranging from 2 to 5 years) that align with their business needs and operational goals.
  5. Client Retention: Maintain and nurture strong relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction, retention, and growth opportunities.
  6. Sales Performance: Consistently meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  7. Market Intelligence: Conduct market research and stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory updates to maintain a competitive edge.
  8. Lead Generation: Identify and generate new leads through networking, cold calling, field visits, and industry events.

Qualifications

  1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in B2B sales.
  2. Sales Skills: Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets, generate leads, and close long-term contracts. Strong prospecting, negotiation, and account management skills.
  3. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present solutions clearly and confidently to a range of clients.
  4. Client Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  5. Problem Solving: Ability to assess client needs and deliver customized, compliant waste management solutions.
  6. Organizational Skills: Self-motivated and detail-oriented with excellent time management and the ability to manage a busy sales pipeline independently.
  7. Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and proposal/quote generation tools.
  8. Education: Post-secondary education in Business, Environmental Studies, Sales, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  9. Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for client visits.
