Summary of Functions

The Outside Sales Representative will prospect for new business while delivering excellent customer service. You will reach out to potential clients primarily through cold calling, supported by a robust sales management tool that replaces traditional note-taking. You will be trained on our service offerings and will effectively communicate the benefits of our products. Using a consultative selling approach, you will match customer needs with Waste Connections services to secure long-term partnerships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sourcing new business opportunities within Red Deer and the surrounding area.
  • Entering intelligence gathered into our ARES system for future follow-up.
  • Collaborating with operations and administrative staff in a team environment, while also working independently.
  • Identifying and reaching out to potential customers through cold calling, networking, and other methods to generate leads.
  • Promptly addressing customer concerns and inquiries, providing solutions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Traveling to client locations, industry conferences, and events as needed to meet clients and prospects.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of solid B2B sales experience.
  • Experience with contract selling is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of ARES, Salesforce, or similar CRM tools is a plus.
  • Own vehicle required for visiting existing and potential clients.
