Job description

Contractor Sales Representatives partner with contractors to fully understand their needs and assist in planning construction projects. As knowledgeable sales professionals, contractor sales representatives can make recommendations that solve customers’ problems. For this position, you will receive a base salary plus uncapped commission following a probationary period.

Qualifications
  • Independent, problem solver
  • Confident, energetic, and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, capable of managing changing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to quickly develop trusting relationships with new customers and build rapport with existing customers
  • Experience in sales is preferred
  • Knowledge of lumber and building materials, and the construction process is an asset
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate high standards of safety and customer service
  • Serve as a resource for sales associates
  • Produce quotes, material lists, and follow up on deliveries
  • Achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets
  • Maintain a contact list and schedule for prospective and existing customers
  • Grow the geographic sales area by building new relationships with contractors and strengthening existing accounts
  • Continuously learn about products and market conditions
