Location: Pembroke, NH - Retail shop

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Position Title: Outside Sales Account Manager

  • Pembroke, NH
  • Monday - Friday
  • Frequent local travel (75% of work time)
  • Minimal overnight travel

The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for managing the sales process and driving profitable sales growth within an assigned sales territory to both existing and new Airgas customers. The AM will be required to meet and exceed corporate and regional objectives for profitable sales growth, A/R management, and customer retention.

  • Develops and executes sales plans using Airgas's directives to service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts. Qualifies and pursues leads.
  • Cultivates customer relationships by developing a deep understanding of their business and establishing a consultative relationship.
  • Engages customers by linking their business priorities to the Airgas value proposition.
  • Prepares sales proposals, quotes pricing, establishes credit terms, and estimates delivery dates based on knowledge of Airgas's schedules.
  • Keeps current with industry insights, product mixes, and monitors competition by gathering relevant marketplace information.
  • Partners with internal resources to achieve growth objectives and maintains clear communication with internal departments regarding customer success and opportunities.
  • Maintains and submits sales reports (daily call reports, weekly plans, and territory analyses) as required by District Manager through SAP.
  • Actively reviews and manages existing customer Accounts Receivable to minimize financial risk.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Are you a MATCH?
  • Bachelor's degree in science, business, or related field required; consideration for up to 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • At least 3 years of outside B2B sales experience, with success in solution-selling and managing customers in a defined territory.
  • Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases is a plus.
  • Knowledge of customer segmentation and prioritization to target high-value customers.
  • Proven success in consultative sales, providing multiple value layers to customers.
  • Deep knowledge of customer businesses, economic trends, and industry opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Strong PC skills (Windows, Word, Excel, email) and ability to adapt to new systems.
  • Self-motivated, operates with urgency, and can succeed independently.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and minimum liability insurance.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, traverse various locations, and lift/move up to 60 pounds occasionally.
