Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job opening based in Nova Scotia. We are seeking a talented Outside Packaging Sales Representative to support new and existing clients throughout the province. This position has a key focus on supporting our Food Processing, Grocery, and Industrial clients with secondary focus on hospitality and healthcare. This role is to manage and grow a given territory, develop new markets and clients in order to increase overall sales profitability.

Imperial Dade is the leading distributor of foodservice packaging, facilities maintenance supplies and equipment in the U.S and Canada. As a provider of customized supply chain solutions, the company serves customers in many business-to-business market segments including supermarkets, healthcare facilities, universities, and restaurants. Founded in 1935 and headquartered in New Jersey, Imperial Dade serves more than 80,000 customers through a footprint of 80+ branches.

Responsibilities

  • Using a value-added/solution selling approach, increase sales volume and profit in existing accounts while identifying new opportunities and introducing new products.
  • Developing target accounts and growth strategies, specific needs analysis and new product introductions.
  • Develop a new portfolio of customers focusing on key commodities/core products.
  • Identify custom packaging opportunities.
  • Developing and executing a call plan, maintaining a full sales pipeline, monthly erosion analysis, price negotiation, new product introduction.
  • Support and execution of Imperial Dade Canada directed marketing and operational initiatives.
  • Support selected vendor programs, make joint calls with vendors, follow corporate direction on vendor contact and cost negotiation, support marketing initiatives and support on-line ordering.
  • Acquire knowledge on Imperial Dade Canada product lines and service offerings and distribution and pricing methods.
  • Scanning and emailing quotes, building quotes, credit, inventory, pricing file maintenance, reporting to Sales Management, sourcing products, customer data base management (Salesforce), daily sales report analysis and order management (EDI/WEB)
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external customers and service providers.
  • Provide input on best practices, policies, and procedures with respect to the sales department and other service providers.
  • Responsible for decisions relating to pricing structure/levels in relation to the profitability of your sales territory, within company established guidelines.
  • Responsible to maintain customer sales activity in IDC’s CRM tool (Salesforce.com) or other tools as mandated by the organization.
  • To consistently achieve sales, margin, and customer profitability targets.
  • Follow internal procedures and make recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Entrepreneurial- ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in the field with team members, large number of internal and external customers, showing flexibility in meeting their individual needs.
  • Above average verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with Salesforce (or other CRM tools) an asset.
  • A vehicle and valid driver’s license are required.
  • Distribution and/or business to business an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in sales/marketing is an asset.

  • Hybrid work model.
  • 30 – 40% of travel required.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prolong periods of sitting, and computer and phone use.
