Sasquatch Mountain Resort (formally, Hemlock Resort) is currently accepting applications for an Outside Operations Supervisor to join our growing team and community here in Hemlock Valley. Successful applicants will have a multifaceted and influential role in building and maintaining the integrity of our ski area, from the way the land is maintained in the summer, to the way the snow is groomed in the winter.
With this role you will lead and oversee several crucial aspects of mountain operations. Working knowledge of ski area operations and the role it plays in creating a valuable and cohesive experience for our guests is necessary for success in this position.

Job Description:
· Be an advocate for health and safety, ensuring a clean and safe working environment, monitoring weather conditions, avalanche risk, and ensuring the safety of skiers and snowboarders on the slopes all while helping limit our ski hill’s liability.
· Coordinate and oversee slope preparation, including grooming and ensuring the slopes are in optimal condition for skiing and snowboarding.
· Staff supervision such as managing and facilitating training for snow groomers, lift operators, and other personnel involved in outside operations.
Maintaining clear communication with other resort staff, guests, and emergency services.
Initiate, manage and delegate daily work assignments with minimal supervision.
Problem solving by addressing any issues or emergencies that arise on the slopes in a timely and effective manner.
Manage the resort’s resources, including snow, water and equipment, in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Work with Operations Managers to develop plans and budgets for upcoming seasons.
Help ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all skiers and snowboarders.
· Be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Possess extensive industry experience along with lift operations, snow removal, and grooming experience – an asset.
Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract.
An up-to-date driving abstract must accompany application.
Intermediate computer skills, the ability to use Excel, Outlook, Word Docs, etc. would be considered an asset.
Must be able to make quick decisions/use considerable judgement regarding safety as well as multitask and anticipate issues.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Stress Management, Patient, and have great Time Management Skills.
· Are reliable and have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Are an intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder.
· Possess a valid first aid and/or CPR certification – an asset.
· Are physically capable of performing manual labor, lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, standing for prolonged periods, walking over rough terrain and working in all outdoor conditions.
