Within a client and family-centred model, the Overdose Outreach Team (OOT) Outreach Worker works as part of an interdisciplinary team to support individuals and families in accessing opioid agonist therapy and related services. Responsibilities include monitoring clients' health, arranging appointments, creating community linkages, assisting with benefits access, administering medication under supervision, liaising with community resources, providing health information, performing clerical duties, and participating in care planning.
Education and Experience: Completion of Substance Use Certificate plus one year of recent experience working with clients with substance use issues, or equivalent. Valid BC driver's license, vehicle, and current CPR certificate required.
Skills and Abilities: Ability to work with diverse populations, excellent communication skills, knowledge of harm reduction, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and ability to work independently and in teams. Physical ability to perform duties required.
