Your Role:

As an Outreach and Engagement Specialist, you will play a key role in stakeholder engagement efforts at the CCTS. Your networking and outreach skills will be put to the test as you proactively seek out and lead engagement activities to increase access and awareness of the CCTS’ services. Reporting to the Manager, Stakeholder Affairs, you will gain hands-on experience developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including consumers, consumer advocacy organizations, civil society, and civic leadership. You will proactively identify opportunities for improved and additional outreach, implement strategies to enhance engagement and support collaborative initiatives to grow consumer awareness of our services.

Stakeholder Engagement & Outreach
  1. Prepare and execute engagement strategies to build relationships directly with key stakeholders, including community organizations and various levels of government.
  2. Independently and proactively research, identify and implement opportunities to enhance public awareness of our services, particularly with communities who may be harder to reach or barriers to awareness and access.
  3. Spearhead outreach efforts and nurture and grow relationships and partnership opportunities, including proactive communication with senior-level representatives at organizations and not-for-profits.
  4. Coordinate stakeholder-led collaborations, such as webinars and grassroots awareness initiatives.
  5. Represent the organization in public forums, ensuring our engagement efforts are inclusive and responsive to community needs.
  6. Act as a liaison between stakeholders and internal teams, ensuring concerns and feedback are effectively communicated, raising unusual matters and organizational commitments to management.
  7. Support the development of outreach materials that are accessible, inclusive, and culturally relevant.
  8. Develop and prepare materials including presentation decks, word documents, trackers, reports, and other key deliverables for internal and external distribution.
  9. Assist Director and Manager with special projects and initiatives as required.
Coordination & Administration
  1. Maintain accurate records of stakeholder interactions and engagement activities to ensure transparency and accountability.
  2. Lead the planning and execution of stakeholder events, workshops, and meetings, including logistics coordination.
  3. Monitor and assess engagement efforts, identifying areas for improvement and refining outreach strategies accordingly.
  4. Prepare and present reports and presentations summarizing engagement outcomes and recommendations to senior management.
  5. Other duties may be reasonably assigned.

You are a self-starter who uses your keen attention to detail to manage multiple priorities with deadlines. You use your dazzling communication skills to foster and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and with the public. You are a natural problem-solver, who is comfortable both working independently, and involving others (where appropriate). Most importantly – you have solid judgement in decision making and act with the highest degree of ethics, integrity and professionalism.

Must-Have Magic:
  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Stakeholder relations or comparable working experience in a complex and dynamic environment.
  2. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications and public affairs, political science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Two or more years of proven experience of implementing projects within one or more equity-seeking communities.
  4. Experience proactively networking, building relationships, and conducting presentations an excellent understanding of positive stakeholder engagement.
  5. Experience engaging with underrepresented and equity-seeking communities, and coordinating, collaborating and engaging with various stakeholder groups.
  6. A proven ability to communicate effectively and with a high degree of tact with external stakeholders who have diverse and varying needs.
  7. Demonstrated experience coordinating and leading online engagement activities for stakeholder relations and public awareness growth.
  8. Experience leading or facilitating small group discussions or consultation processes, coordinating, collaborating and engaging with various stakeholder groups.
  9. Demonstrated experience with CRM tools or database management, project management applications and have effectively used Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel).
  10. An understanding of the telecommunications and television industries would be considered an asset.
  11. Fluency in English and French, with excellent written and oral communications skills, and the ability to convey complex information clearly, and in a diplomatic and unbiased manner.
