Job summary

SE Health is seeking a casual Therapy Assistant to support SE Rehab Health Clinic in Richmond Hill for outpatient rehab programs. The role involves assisting therapists, working in a team, and potential early-evening hours.

Requirements include OTA/PTA diploma and at least 1 year of outpatient experience; BLS and background checks are required. SE Health offers competitive rewards and opportunities to grow within a national health care organization.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized OTA/PTA Certificate or Diploma program from an accredited community college
• One year of work experience in an inpatient setting
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, written and verbal
• High level of initiative and adaptability to rapidly changing demands

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist in performing components of treatment plans
• Perform treatments as prescribed including gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, ROM, strengthening, ADL retraining, modalities (heat, ice, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe exercise classes for 1:1 or groups
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after treatments
• Ensure therapy gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular communication with the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapists about patient status and treatment changes
