Job Title: Outdoor Guest Services Supervisor
Location: Whitewater Ski Resort
Department: Outdoor Operations
Reports to: Outdoor Operations Manager
Employment Status/Type: Seasonal, Full-Time (November – April, with Part Time starting in Sept)
Compensation:$20-$22/hr DOE (alongside further perks & benefits)

JOB SYNOPSIS:
Under the direction and supervision of the Outdoor Operations Manager, the Outdoor Guest Services Supervisor will provide leadership and direction of the daily operations to the Outdoor Guest Services Team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences and smooth operations within the outdoor guest services world. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage a team of outdoor guest services staff, while maintaining a focus on delivering top-notch customer service and promoting safety and enjoyment for all resort guests.

Key areas of responsibility include the execution and coordination of the team in base area operations: traffic flow management, overseeing effective parking, base area risk management, snow removal around infrastructure, lift ticket scanning, resort events, and assistance with the mountain safety team as well as other departments as required. You will be expected to foster strong working relationships, hire, onboard, and train staff, team scheduling and payroll, attend operations meetings, be familiar with resort terrain, and all safety procedures. You will be a knowledge expert on Whitewater’s terrain, events, and services.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create work schedules, manage staff rotations, and coordinate break times to ensure adequate coverage and efficient service delivery.
Oversee the Outdoor Guest Services team daily, ensuring objectives are completed on time and to the resort’s standard.
Ensure staff are functioning at a high level.
Audit safety logs to ensure accurate completion.
Performance Management with staff setting goals and expectations.
Conduct and document daily morning meetings to provide updates, address concerns, objectives for the day, and foster a positive working environment in the absence of the OGS Supervisor
Attend Daily Operations and JOHSC meetings.
Enforce resort safety policies and procedures, ensuring that all staff adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
Maintain current knowledge of legal standards pertaining to equipment and tools, safety regulations, and OHS practices.
Risk management and mitigation around the lodge and base area buildings. Documenting these as well.
Coordinate daily Base Area assignments: traffic management, parking assignments, lift ticket validation, snow removal, and maintenance as required.
Collaborate with the resort’s safety and risk management teams to identify and address potential hazards or safety issues.
Review daily maintenance logs for accuracy and safety issues and report any safety issues immediately.
Liaison between staff, departments and management.
Assist in executing special events, competitions, and promotions within the resort.
Champion a sustainable approach in daily operations, planning, and development.
Promote Whitewater’s safety culture by reviewing and amending where necessary but not limited to: Department Manual, Employee Handbook.
Manage department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to achieve organizational goals.
Embrace, promote and follow Whitewater’s mission statement and values.
Ensure that all guests receive outstanding service and assistance throughout their visit to the ski resort.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
1 – 2 years relevant ski industry experience required.
1-2 years working at Whitewater Ski Resort considered an asset.
1 Season previous supervisory or management experience in a customer service-oriented environment, preferably within the hospitality or ski industry considered an asset.
Ability to ski or ride expert terrain required.
Computer knowledge: excel, word, google workplace an asset.
Valid driver’s license required.
Class 4 an asset.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of skiing/snowboarding and the ski resort environment.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle high-pressure situations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse team and adapt to changing situations.
Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to ski resort operations.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Ability to handle challenging situations with guests and staff.
