Job summary

Sysco is seeking a permanent, full-time Order Selector for night shift in Ontario. You will ship an average of 1,600 cases per shift, with cases weighing ~25 lb, up to 70 lb. The role operates in Dry, Cooler, and Freezer temperatures.

Starting pay is $29.40/hr plus $1.00 night premium and $1.00 freezer premium, increasing after 6 months and after one year, with additional raises thereafter. Shifts run 5:00–6:00 p.m., four days per week, Sunday–Friday, up to 12 hours, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of heavy lifting and high endurance due to continuous standing, bending, stretching and fast-paced work.
• Able to work in cold/freezer temperature environments for extended periods.
• Experience with pallet jacks and forklifts is beneficial for high-volume warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production and accuracy while selecting foodservice orders.
• Load pallets to ensure safe delivery of product to customers.
• Adhere to all working methods and SOPs; follow Sysco’s Food Safety policies.
• Perform duties safely as trained; participate in shift, department, company and safety meetings.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager and Supervisors.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a permanent full-time Order Selector on night shift, you will be required to ship on average of 1,600 cases per shift, with each case weighing an average of 25 pounds, up to a maximum of 70 pounds. Warehouse environments fluctuate between Dry, Cooler, and Freezer temperatures.Starting hourly wage is $29.40 ($29.40 per hour plus $1.00 per hour night shift premium) and an additional $1.00 per hour freezer premium if working in that area. The hourly wage then increases to $30.55 per hour (plus premiums) after 6 months and then to $34.01 (plus premiums) after one full year in the role. Additional hourly rate increases occur each year.

Shift starts are between 5:00pm and 6:00pm, with 4 shifts per week occurring from Sunday to Friday. Each shift is up to 12 hours with overtime as required by work volume. Average work volume due to nature of business, this position will be required to work on stat holidays with additional stat pay or time off in lieu.

Our high volume warehouse runs very lean and efficiently,regular attendance is expected and managed appropriately.

This is a physically demanding role, with continual walking, standing, stretching, bending, and lifting throughout the entire shift.However, this can also be a very rewarding role with_ additional _pay incentives that can be earned - with the potential to earn up to $1,000 weekly in incentives.

Role Responsibilities:

• Maintains an acceptable level of production and accuracy while selecting foodservice orders.

• Loads pallets to ensure safe delivery of product to customers.

• Adheres to all Preferred Work Methods and Standard Operating Procedures.

• Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.

• Carries out duties in a safe manner as instructed through safety training.

• Participate in various meetings/groups (shift, departmental, company and safety).

• Performs other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager and Supervisors.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

• Physically capable of heavy lifting and high endurance as there is constant standing, bending stretching, lifting, twisting and very fast-paced work.

• Ability to work in cold (freezer) temperature environments for extended periods.

• High volume warehouse experience using a pallet jack and/or forklift is beneficial.

• Medium to high level of physical exertion is required; repetitive, continuous lifting up to 70 pounds.

• Safety conscious with a teamwork attitude

• Reliable transportation to and from work

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Must be 18+ years of age

• English fluency
