Job Overview

The Child Care Services "before and after school care" program is a licensed and accredited Child Care Program operating on school days and Non Instructional Fridays. The Fort McMurray Catholic School District seeks a Child Care Services supervisor to support Good Shepherd Catholic School.

Qualifications
  • Alberta Child Care Certification – Worker (Level 2) minimum; Preference given to those with Supervisor (Level 3)
  • First aid with CPR required
  • NVCI and Food Safe certification are assets
  • Must provide a valid criminal reference check, vulnerable sector check, and proof of Alberta Child Care Certification
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to manage supplies and inventory; access to a vehicle required
  • Willingness to work split shifts
Responsibilities
  • Ensure observations, planning, and documentation of learning and play using various techniques
  • Ensure activities are developmentally appropriate, promoting whole-child development
  • Build meaningful relationships with children and others
  • Follow Food Safe practices
  • Work and play at the child's physical level during activities
  • Create an environment that fosters positive behavior
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, accidents, incidents, cleaning, and health
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation
  • Adhere to licensing, health, and accreditation standards
